The Crown of the Continent is at once a unique place full of wonder, culture, wildlife, landscapes and history, but also a place where parts of the whole are slipping away. The loss of the namesake of Glacier National Park will be the most obvious absence in the near future with changes in climate bringing new challenges that require new ways of thinking about familiar conservation problems. The absence of the glaciers and changes in runoff will change habitats with mountain zones and aquatic habitats seeing the greatest temperature rises. But the environment of the greater Crown is resilient in many ways and intact.

The following posts will highlight projects within the Crown that are working to address a changing climate.
