Make your memories more accessible. Most of us have a box of family photos that may be a daunting task to go through. Let them be seen by your whole family by uploading them to the cloud or other means of sharing.
I am set up to scan, archive and reprint photo collections. I recommend you go through photos and negatives to choose what you want to archive, if possible.
My Equipment:
Epson v700 scans up to 8×10 negatives with dust elimination software and 8.5×11 prints. Great for delicate prints!
The Epson FastFoto does wonderful quality scans of 8.5×11 and larger photos and documents (between 1 and 10 seconds per double-side scan!) Good for newer prints!
Canon 6D with light-box/copy stand for larger items. Photos and artwork that are exceptionally large can be digitally stitched.
